About

Here, we believe in community first.

Building a bridge to connect the African diaspora in Paris

Who we are

Black Paris Social is a Paris-based collective founded by members of the Black diaspora who found home in Paris. We are artists, creators, academics, writers, and cultural curators with a commitment to serving our community with love, and creating safe spaces for the African diaspora to connect.

Our posture

Black Paris Social is built on six commitments that shape everything we do.

  1. Inclusivity
  2. Accessibility
  3. Integrity
  4. Cultural fluency
  5. Joy as resistance
  6. Intentional curation over scale

From how we plan an event to how we show up for our community. Black Paris Social is for the full African diaspora — not limited by nationality, background, or any single narrative of what Blackness looks like. Queerness is a valued and visible part of who we are, not an afterthought. We maintain a posture of accessibility because our community comes first. Our spaces are built to welcome newcomers, non-French speakers, and people navigating Paris alone for the first time.

This collective is born out of a love for this city and the people in it, and a determination to make this place home.
